We have many multi-generation family holidays staying at The Beach Haven.

With four bedrooms giving plenty of privacy and being one one level means much easier access for those with limited mobility. Our current age record-holder is Ken who was 99 at the time of his stay! We’re pleased to say he’s still going strong at 101! At the other end of the scale we have also had a number of babies and our travel cot gets regular use during the course of the year. Earlier this year we had a couple come to stay and they brought their little grand-daughter with them for her first time away from Mum & Dad. Whilst at The Beach Haven she enjoyed her first sleep in a ‘proper’ bed (which she loved) and her first bath in a ‘proper’ bath (which she was not so sure about!)

Although The Beach Haven is not specifically equipped for the disabled, we have welcomed a number of guests with limited mobility with excellent feedback. We can provide a ramp up to the front door cill and can now also provide the hire of a mobility scooter. The Beach Haven is located close to Crooklets beach from where there is a delightful, tarmacced, cliff-top path across the downs, past the open air swimming pool to Summerleaze beach and Bude town centre. This enables those in wheelchairs to fully experience to the beauty of the area  – or it provides a safe, scenic route for those wishing to have a bit of independence on the mobility scooter. Perfect for grandad who really doesn’t fancy joining the rest of the family for their day out at The Eden Project! The scooter also enables elderly folk to take that evening walk with the family when otherwise they might be too tired.

Another family-friendly feature which has been popular is the selection of board games we provide. Whereas generally they appear to be going out of fashion in favour of solitary electronic gaming devices, we have had a number of guests say they’ve had wonderful family-times gathered around one or more of these games. A recent guest commented ‘it was games night every night’! To that end we will be expanding our collection further for 2017!

Also popular, for those occasional bad-weather days, is our DVD library with a wide selection of family-friendly films. We’ll also be updating this over the winter. One guest commented, ‘with the large TV and surround sound, it was like being at the cinema’!

We also provide a selection of beach gear. From buckets and spades and cricket sets to body-boards of varying sizes which all helps to keep the spending costs down a little when you’re here.

As well as our ‘old-fashioned’ entertainment, The Beach Haven benefits from superfast optical broadband so youngsters who prefer their online entertainment won’t be disappointed and the Roku on the TV enables access to your Netflix or any other online streaming service you normally enjoy at home. However, if there’s anything we don’t currently provide, but you would like us to, just let us know and we’ll see what we can do!
