There’s a brief period of melancholy when the summer is over for another year but in Cornwall the sadness doesn’t last too long because an autumn has a special place in our hearts.

The river Camel in north Cornwall

With the crowds long since departed you can now experience Cornwall as the locals do – peaceful, relaxed and contented. You can park where you want, eat where you like without having to book days in advance, stroll around the towns and villages without fending people off with your elbows, but best of all, you get to see Cornwall in it’s wild and natural beauty.

Instead of swimming costumes and beach towels; pack your walking boots, fleeces and waterproofs. Come and explore the coast in a way that a summer visit can’t. The autumn swells will be picking up and hammering at the cliffs, giving off an intoxicating, salty sea-scent that really makes you feel alive. The coombes and wooded valleys that lead down to the sea will be mellowing into their golden hues and we have some glorious circular walks that combine the best of coast and countryside – including a few that you can start straight from The Beach Haven, without needing your car at all.  And, of course, that means that you can enjoy a lunchtime drink at those irresistible country pubs!

If you like your surfing, again, this is a great time of year to visit.  You don’t have to fight for your wave and at some of the smaller breaks, you might even get the place to yourself, despite the fact the water is still lovely and warm.

At the end of the day, no matter what adventures you’ve had, at The Beach Haven, you can come back to a lovely warm home and light the real open fire. We provide you with kindling, a scuttle of coal and a net of logs to get you going.  You can then settle down for a night of watching films or listening to music on the large-screen tv with surround sound system. We have a huge and varied selection of CD and DVD’s for you to choose from.

Best of all though, during the autumn and winter, we price The Beach Haven as if it sleeps four, meaning you get all the lovely facilities of a larger property but at an extremely competitive price!

Autumn was very popular at the Beach Haven last year and we were completely booked up throughout October and November so don’t wait too long to reserve your week.
