Cornwall was gripped in a blizzard yesterday: apart from a 3 mile radius of Bude that is! Feeling deprived, I set out this afternoon with Finlay for a snow day. Bodmin Moor, a 15 minute drive away, is always a great for a walk in any weather so I headed for the old RAF aerodrome at Davidstow, intent on driving up to the Roughtor car park as the roads seemed fine. However, shortly after driving over the first cattle grid, on the perimeter of the aerodrome, I realised this was as far as was going to get in the car! It was the domain of 4x4s only after that! I parked up and decided to walk to Crowdy reservoir a couple of miles away.
I can’t say it was the exhilarating walk I had in mind, up to the top of Roughtor, but it was lovely nonetheless and as you can see, Finlay had a joyful time in the snow!
